Welcome to our Haywire Adventure Life! We are glad you are here and look forward to entertaining you with tales of our adventures at home here in Canada, and hopefully soon….around the world!

OUR STORY

Growing up, our lives were quite different from each other. Johns family often moved during his growing up years, even internationally, but I (Melissa) lived in the same house from birth until 16 years old! We met when we both lived in Southern Alberta, and that is where our story started and where our story continues today.

John has always had a sense of adventure. While I am the one to say “We can’t do that or go there!”, John says, “Why not?” Over the 20+ years that we have been married, I have learned to embrace the adventures, and our lives have been so much richer because of them!

We have traveled to places in Canada, multiple places in the United States including Maui, and New Zealand, and we have always done it on a tight budge. No frills for our adventures, just a whole lot of fun!

Haywire Adventure Life will also be about hikes and adventures that I do with a bunch of my “Real Housewives of Rural Alberta” friends!  We always have so much fun when we go out, and would love to share those adventures with you as well as encourage you to do the same!

HOUSEBOUND?

One of the things that have got us through these never ending COVID lock downs is watching other peoples adventures on You Tube. That is seriously true reality TV…No scripts needed!

We realized through this that we have gone to many places and seen many things that others may want to see as well. This is our way to give back.

And if you are someone who can’t get around easily due to various reasons, we want to bring you on our adventure and show you places that you might otherwise not get to see.

The goal of this website is to document our adventures to inspire you to get out and find your own adventures.

Travel and exploring does not have to cost a lot of money, and we want to show you how we save money, and pass along tips and tricks to get the best deals!
